General Information for All Members

Following the rules and being considerate of others ensures everyone has equal rights and ensures a high standard of safety is maintained.

All persons entering HPC are to abide by the HPC By-Laws 2014


General Use of Grounds/Facilities

  • Smoking is NOT permitted on our grounds.
  • Non-agisting members have full use of the grounds and facilities (access contract signed and ground access levy paid. Ensure a completed health declaration is placed in the letterbox.) 
  • Ensure front gates are always locked if no members are on the grounds.
  • Arena lights are available for use free of charge for members.
  • Use water conservatively - access rain water tanks when possible including for feeding and cooling down horses.
  • Any equipment taken from storage must be returned to storage as soon as possible. 
  • Sometimes arenas may need to be closed.  Advice will be via our members only Facebook page. 

Rider Safety

  • All members 16yrs and under MUST be closely supervised as ALL times (actively watching, supervising adult within 50 metres of rider).
  • Horses must be ridden with a bit in their mouth.
  • Helmets must be worn at all times when riding and/or lunging a horse.
  • Teenage and associate riders are asked to ensure they set a good example for our younger riders.

Vehicles on HPC Grounds

  • Vehicles should not be driven on paddocks (unless for club purposes).

  • Vehicles must be kept below 20km on the access tracks and at walking pace  around the feed yards.

Additional Note

A sublease has been signed with the Nundah Community Enterprises Corporation (NCEC), Parks & Maintenance Division and registered with the Brisbane City Council (as our landlord). The big green two bay garage behind the club house belongs to NCEC. Their sub-lease provides for access to the grounds and the toilet facilities (the attached Code of Conduct for Users has also been signed). NCEC will normally only access their garage early morning and late afternoon (Monday to Friday).
